St Paul’s Cathedral Choir

Choral Worship at the Cathedral

The Cathedral Choir sings at our Choral Eucharists, Choral Evensong and Civic Services at St Paul’s, and helps to lead our worship during major festivals, as well as giving concerts and engaging in outreach within the Diocese of Dunedin and beyond. An auditioned choir, under the leadership of our Director of Music Michael Grant, it maintains high musical standards and a wide repertoire of liturgical music.

The Choir and Cathedral music department have strong links with other musicians and choirs throughout Aotearoa and beyond, and a number of members of the Choir have gone on to sing in the UK and around the world. The choir has also contributed many members to the New Zealand Secondary Students' Choir, the National Youth Choir and Voices NZ, and includes a number of Choral Scholars.

The Choir is currently recruiting experienced singers of all voice types!
If you have an interest and passion for singing an extensive repertoire of early to contemporary choral music to a high standard, contact the Director of Music for information:

Scholarships are available for secondary and tertiary students who sing regularly in the choir.
